Annual symposium invites long-term care professionals, caregivers to ‘stand together’ for residents’ rights

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — When long-term care professionals and caregivers stand together, residents rise. That’s the idea guiding the Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program of Northeast Indiana’s Third Annual Summer Symposium: Stand With Me.

Built on community, collaboration and connection, this year’s event explores the possibilities working and advocating together creates for older adults.

The free event is on Aug. 7 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Parkview Mirro Center and will provide a complimentary breakfast for attendees. Area long-term care facilities, professionals and caregivers are invited to learn and offer support to help each other do more “good” in a better way.

Leaders and advocates will share practical tools for providing the most effective care to older adults.

Speakers for this year’s event include Drew Kalsto of Aging Compass, Elder Law Attorney David Anthony and Dr. Teresa DeLellis, Pharm.D., BCPS, BCGP, AGSF.
